In keeping with our anniversary tradition we donned our wedding clothes for the afternoon .. Despite the fact that one of us has clearly gained a bunch of weight since last year and couldn’t fit into said clothes .. 3 years in and it just keeps getting better!!!
This news is WAY overdue so most all of our family and close friends or (anyone that has actually seen me in person) already knows this but the Oliver family is growing by 1. That’s right! Rosie is such an amazing tiny human that we decided we would take our chances with another one!
Baby Oliver #2 is due to arrive mid July. (These photos are a 2 months old already so I look drastically different now a days .. But I’ll post an updated photo soon.)
It’s still so surreal to think we will be adding another baby to our family and there have been sooo many thoughts, feelings, emotions and fears surrounding the last 4 months. In some ways it still doesn’t feel real. I think that may be why I haven’t shared too openly yet. Or maybe it’s because I have a toddler to run after and I just don’t have the same free time for blogging, daydreaming or even showering regularly.
Tony and I are absolutely thrilled for this growing baby and can’t wait to see what adventures await us. Rosie is very excited and is going to be the most amazing big sister ever!! She is practicing daily on her baby dolls (and her friends).
More photos from our last trip to my grandparents house in Ocean City. They get the best late afternoon light coming through their living room windows. We’ve been married for 2 years but I still love catching glimpses of that ring!! When Rosie wants to give you a kiss she does this awesome face where she raises her eyebrows and juts out her bottom lip. It’s pretty much our favorite face ever and we jump up right away for the chance for a kiss!! This was an extremely fun afternoon and brought back so many memories from being a child in our grandparents old backyard with the same hose attachment.
We recently took a short trip to my grandparents house in Ocean City. Their house is pretty much my favorite place to visit. We get long heartfelt hugs, simple meals full of wholesome food, slow afternoons and time to recharge. It’s just so peaceful. And even though they live so close to the beach we hardly ever make it out there outside of a quick walk. Despite the fact that I have felt a pull to the ocean for the last 3 years. Truthfully I haven’t been very good at trusting my gut lately. Usually because it seems silly, or trivial, I don’t want to put other people out, or I just plain ole can’t make a decision.
But this trip we made time for the ocean. And as silly as it may sound it was everything I didn’t know I needed. I can’t describe how good it felt to be by the ocean. The waves, the sand, the sun, the smell, the crashing sounds.
These photos are from our 3rd trip to the beach in one day.
I didn’t bring my camera to the beach during the day but Rosie LOVED the sand. She could play for hours with a bucket and shovel and was covered head to toe as soon as she was able to wiggle out of our arms. It was heaven.
I’m already aching to be back to the ocean. Luckily I only have to wait 15 more days. 🙂
Happy Father’s Day to the my sweet husband. It has been a crazy 16 months adjusting to the whirlwind of being a father and you continuously blow me away with your patience and gentleness. Watching you parent our daughter makes me fall in love with you more and more every day. And seeing Rosie’s face light up when you come into a room makes my heart explode. Rosie and I are so lucky to have you. And we love you more than you could ever know.
