26 Weeks – A bigger belly and some new (to me) clothes.

26 weeks

I just discovered the joys and comforts of maternity clothes and let me tell you .. it’s glorious!

I held out for 5 1/2 months but it was time.

It’s not like I didn’t need them now  .. believe me, I did! .. my pants haven’t been buttoned or zippered in months and for the most part they were held up entirely by sheer will power alone .. well that and one of those spandex belly bands and some strategically placed rubber bands.  It wasn’t necessarily comfortable but I couldn’t bring myself to buy a bunch of clothes that I would only wear for a few months.  So I held out.  I held out until I inherited a generous collection of maternity clothes from family, clients, and friends.

The only problem I had was when I grabbed the first pair of jeans and saw the label largely read “Sexy bootcut” …. are you flipping kidding me Old Navy?!!  No one is really expecting these things to be sexy.  The top is all elastic and the waistband goes clear up to your boobs.  We would all be just fine if you just labeled them what they are .. you don’t have to be such a jerk about it!

But the comfort makes it worth the blatant mis-labeling.  I swear when I first slipped on the maternity leggings I heard angels start singing.  And when I discovered the amazing comfort that came with maternity jeans I knew there was no turning back. (I actually probably couldn’t now even if I wanted too.)

These are the pants you have always wanted to be able to wear on Thanksgiving.  The non-judging wide elastic waistband that doesn’t make you feel bad for eating dessert both before AND after dinner.  So look out Turkey-day .. I’m more than ready for you this year!!
